Mt. Charleston is 11,918 feet high The temperature is around average 30 degree’s cooler then in the Las Vegas Valley. Trees on the mountain include Juniper, Mountain Mahogany, Aspen, and Ponderosa Pine. There are also all sorts of animals around there such as hummingbirds, woodpeckers, chipmunks, elk, mule deer, foxes, and more. One park on the mountain is the Las Vegas Ski/Snow board Park, it has three lifts, eleven trails, and 60 acres, with an elevation of 9,510 feet and a drop of 1,000 vertical feet.

Mt. Charleston is the highest peak in Southern Nevada and in 1989 the Mt. Charleston National Recreation Area was designated the Mt. Charleston Wilderness Area. The reason for picking Mt. Charleston is because it is close, good for inexperienced people, has snow on it, and is surrounded by nature. It also has good weather for skiing and snow boarding.
