Michelle Barboza and Ricky Nogera in the hands-on competition at Weber State University.
In November two students, Michelle Barboza and Ricky Nogera, competed in a written competition for Weber State University, in hopes to qualify for a spot in the hands-on part of the competition. They were then informed that they had made it and qualified 19th out of 500. They competed on January 17 where they were also accompanied by a bus load of there fellow classmates. The two students competed for two hours in many different tasks. The two come in 21st overall. The class was able to win a 5.7L engine in a drawing at the awards banquet. From the experience that the two students had at the competition, the two students have decided to pursue their careers in the automotive field, by attending Weber State in the fall of next year.
The students are working on this Lincoln Versailles as a class project car.
