Athletics
In order to capture the Nevada 3A state title at Moapa Valley last winter, the Trojans needed to have many athletes place high. With thirteen of the fourteen weight classes qualifying, the Trojans had a great shot at beating the dominant 4 time consecutive state champions Spring Creek. After the first round, it seemed the Trojans were on their way, winning eleven first round matches. Then 
after another nine wins in the semi-finals, the Trojans could no longer lose. Putting nine wrestlers through to the finals was almost unheard of. As the state tournament came to a close, the standings showed that the Trojans had eleven state place winners, including two state champions, seven runners-up, a third and a fourth place.
